About Us

Orlando Murals came about after Shelley Overton dabbled with murals in her Tennessee bedroom in 2001. A neighbor asked her to paint her house with many faux finishes and murals. She gladly accepted. After she moved to Orlando in 2003, she realized she could make a living doing what she loved most, creating art.

It's been 4 years since then, and murals continue to be a highly desireable way to decorate a home and add a personal touch. We hope you find an outlet for your own creative vision through the use of murals – with Orlando Murals.

Shelley Overton - Artist and Muralist

Shelley noticed her ability to reproduce what she looked at artistically at the age of 7, with the accurate reproduction of a fish- the Pirhana. Shelley went on to commercial art school in Tampa, Florida, then moved to her native Colorado at the age of 21. Shelley lived in Denver and pursued a career as a Graphic Designer, until she went back to school at the University of Colorado at Denver and got a BA in Communications. Shelley applied that degree to her new career of marketing coordinator for Twins Magazine. Though she enjoyed this new career, graphic design and art was in her blood. Shelley went to work for herself as a muralist, and went back to freelancing as a graphic and fine artist doing portraits and logos. In December 2000 Shelley moved to Knoxville, Tennessee with her family.

Family drew Shelley to Knoxville, Tennessee and eventually back to Florida. Shelley continues to create murals and fine art, but also expanded her interests to jewelrymaking. You can see her jewelry and other creations at Shelley's other site - http://www.apolkadotsky.com
